weekly catchup

i thought i had blogged about what i got up to during my first weekend here in Tokyo, but i guess not...
so i had my first day at work on friday, during obon week, so the office was quiet as, but it was good, allowed me to adjust to my desk and read up on what i'm expected as an employee here...
then friday night, i went strolling around shibuya and did some shopping for my apartment which is starting to become more homely now, more me =D
then saturday, i met up with a work mate and we went to kawagoe, north west from ikebukuro station, where its also known as "little edo" quite a nice little town i say.. its famous for the 500 Statues of Ra-kan.. which is pretty awesome

unfortunately the trip to kawagoe was shortlived, by time we wanted to leave this area and check out the main strip of kawagoe, this happened...

we ended up drenched of course, ... so after buying a new set of clothes each, the rain finally died down and our first meal ended up at 6pm... our first meal!!!
by the time we got home after that ordeal and went grocery shopping at 10pm, we got home around midnight and knocked out

the next day on the other hand, started off pretty muggy, which was unfortunate because we made a 1.5 hour journey out to Enoshima, a beautiful coastal area out of Tokyo, but unfortunately, the beach aint pretty and the sand looks more like dirt if anything.. however we didnt go to Enoshima for the beaches, oh no.. we went there for the views of the beach from this awesome spa resort.. unfortunately we're not allowed to take pictures inside the spa resort, which by the way, is 3 stories high, with the top story segregating males and females for the hot spring baths.. and the 1st and second levels have different types of communal swimming pools, all with different temperatures, massages or minerals... both levels also have outdoor pools which is on the side of the cliff of the island, where it over looks Tokyo bay... since we were there for 7 hours right until the time it closed, i was able to take some photos of only the communal swimming pools and outside... too bad i took the photo of the outdoor pools during the night, if only you could have seen what we did when we just lazed around by the edge of the pool overlooking the bay... sighs, take me back there now!
heres a few of the illegal photos i took...

ahh the last photo, on the edge of that pool, is the edge of the island....

anyways since then, just been keeping my head down and working... just found out that there was a stabbing at shibuya station, where 2 girls were injured by a 70 yr old woman.. and the worse bit is that it happened when i was near the area too! but we were eating tsukemen during that time, but still, so scary... it happened at 6.50pm, friday night....

just also found out that i might be heading off to nagoya for a week while boss is in germany in september... i dont mind working in nagoya really, as long as they pay for my expenses, why not? but will find out soon more details....

this weekend? might hit up shinjuku and get lost there for a couple of hours and then come home... and then sunday, gonna head off to koenji for the awaodori festival, the place where i lived for 7 days with bro and his best mate in their shoebox before going to osaka to study for a semester...
