ok, so i endure a longish flight to narita with a half empty plane, hence 2 seats to myself (awesome) but 3 would have really done it for me.. caught up on some movies i wanted to watch but never had time to inc 21 and ironman and also watched Arj barker live... note to self, watching stand up comedy and laughing and pointing at your screen does not justify yourself... you still look like a loser
so i get ready for narita, changing into a singlet and changing from boots to slip on shoes, japan was freaking hot and humid!
anyways back to the drama story you're waiting for... i get to the airport, expecting to see my name, I SAW NO NAME FOR ME! i calmed down, go and get my airport limousine ticket (sounds good, but its just a bus) THEN i hop on, and think HOLY CRAP what if the person is still there waiting for me and i didnt look properly? i only scanned the joint! all asians look the same right? so on my 2 hour bus ride from narita to home, i was pretty much stressed out... then i thought, what happens when i get to the apartment? what if the girl/guy is still waiting for me at the airport that im left HERE at the apartment all alone?? well thats how it turned out..
got to tamaplaza station, bought some food at familymart, hopped into taxi, cause i for sure had no idea where i was meant to go... got to the apartment... NO ONE WAS THERE... for half an hour, in the heat, cause its an open lobby, i was stressed like a mofo, luckily bro's old japanese phone network was still connected and i was able to call the emergency bosch contact for new interns... NO ENGLISH! luckily i was able to use my japanese and he understood the situation, unfortunately, he had no idea how to help or what was going on...
in the middle of the desperate phone call, i saw 4 foreigners walking to the apartment... tried to get off the phone as politely as i could speaking the little japanese that i had and hung up...
tried my best and asked if they knew a particular person... turns out it's their friend! they called her up and she told them where my room was, WITH THE DOOR UNLOCKED... which was what i was gonna do in the end, if i still had no idea what to do.. they were so helpful! they even helped carry my bags to my room and made sure i was good... then they invited me to drinks in one of the other apartments... so nice! so i got into my apartment (sorry guys im buying a camera on fri night or sat in AKIHABOURER) so no pics of my shoebox just yet... but yeah took a nice COLD SHOWER OMG IT FELT SOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD... got changed and went to the other apartment... thing is, interns get shoeboxes, full time permanent employees get apartments... ikea furnished too... my furnishings for my shoebox is more 70s inspired i think LMAO, but most importantly, 70s furnishings it may be, but its CLEAN.. thats all that counts
at the moment, it 8.04am, i was meant to wake up at 8, but i used my aussie mobile phone's alarm clock, which meant i woke up at melb EST 8am, which in that case, Japan's 7am time....
by the time i realised, i had already taken my shower and put make up on... (i dont usually wear makeup for work, but hey, its japan)
so hence, here i am, stealing my neighbours internet and blogging... ooo0o that reminds me i need to buy aus->japan power plugs so i recharge my laptop....
